The organization, Uttar Meghbalika, started with a noble cause and registered itself under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI, 1961 in the year of 2010. Our organization was born with the dream of establishing an equal society where help and opportunities flourish for people from every walk of life. Uttar Meghbalika has tried to bridge the gap where others could not by furthering their holistic cause aimed at the neglected poverty-stricken population, trying to gift them with a healthy and educated future. Our awareness camps have been concerned with Public Health including Nutrition, RCH, promotion of education, livelihood, and Child Labour prohibition. We also tackled Child Marriage, Women Trafficking, Gender Discrimination, WASH and HIV/AIDS. Since, 2011 to 2021, we conducted several programmes under various Block Development Offices in West Bengal, Consumer Affairs, Swasthya Bhavan and a couple of NGOs.

From this very vision, blossomed our new project, Uttaran, which means a way forward, the path to complete upliftment. We took our philosophy of freeing the less fortunate from their backward lives and combined it with strict action and we are already seeing results. We have committed to providing children with premium education, free of cost. We are putting smiles on their faces by organizing dance lessons, drawing and drama classes which explore their culture. Children are gifted with clothes, blankets and rations. We have also been a step ahead with complimentary health check ups and Covid relief materials. Uttaran also take a dynamic interest in women empowerment, providing women with lessons in stitching and handicrafts to help them build their own sustainable lives.
